Sept 3rd: 9:30 AM @ Buford Cavern in Chassahowitzka Park
Nov 12th: 1:00 Lady Luck Shipwreck with South Florida Diving Headquarters in Pompano Beach
Here is a bit about the sites:
Shark tooth dive in Venice: Venice has become one of the world's premiere destinations for underwater artifact hunting, including Megalodon teeth, all kinds of shark teeth, and even fossilized bone!! These are shallow dives around 40 ft, making it a great depth for newer divers.
Okinawa Shipwreck: This is a neat, fully in tact wreck that starts around 40 ft and bottoms at about 60 ft, making it a great depth for newer divers.
Buford Cavern: This is one of the most adventurous dives. It sits in the middle of a FL state park and is a bit of a hike to get there. I wheel the tanks and gear to the site, so you don't have to hike with it on. This is a large cavern, with lots of neat structure. Since it sits off the beaten path, it is not as crowded as some of the other caverns. Since this is a cavern, you have direct access to the surface, unlike a cave. This dive mainly takes place between *60-80 feet of water, thus, I recommend having a minimum of 10 dives under your belt.
Lady Luck: This is the queen of all shipwrecks in FL. I have dove many wrecks, including the top ones in the Keys, and this is one of the very best. This is a fully in tact, very large shipwreck with amazing swim throughs and a ton of marine life. Given that it starts around 100+ ft and mostly takes place in the *120 ft range, I recommend having a minimum of 10 dives under your belt.
*The Open Water certification max depth of 60 ft is waived because these are instructor led dives.
**Please note that while we always schedule for the stated dive sites, it is ultimately the captain's call, which may be subject to change due to weather and/or marine conditions.
